Kim O’Neil has wide experience of the aviation industry. He has particular expertise in aviation safety and regulatory affairs, including safety assessment, quality, certification, rulemaking, transport capacity, low cost airline and airport development, operational procedures, safety standards and European aviation legislation.
He has senior managerial and project management experience. |
Kim has participated in many International projects. He has been involved in the development of new guidance and tracking technologies and designed and developed aircraft evacuation systems.
He has a Degree in Mathematics and Physics and was a Research Fellow at Surrey University. He is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Flight Operations Group. Kim has extensive international experience, participating in many international committees and has a wide network of international industry contacts at all levels.
He has excellent communication skills. He has chaired aviation conferences and has published and presented internationally many technical papers on: Safety, Safety Management, Safety Cases, Regulation, Service Provision, Satellite Communications Standards, Satellite Navigation, European Standards, Search and Rescue, Evacuation,
Systems Security and Formal System Development.
Kim has appeared on TV (including BBC1, BBC2, Sky and Discovery) as an aviation safety expert.
He is currently working with Granada TV on a series of programmes on commercial space travel.
He is a keen sportsmen and runner and weight trains three time a week. He is also a keen gardener and grows
his own vegetables. He is happily married with six children.
Kim is also a Director of Advanced Aviation Technology Ltd.
