Air Sylhet welcomes Bangladesh "Open Skies"

The Bangladesh Council of Advisers approved an 'open sky policy' on Wednesday 19th September, for three airports
for the next three months to ease the air travel problems of Bangladesh nationals.
It is estimated over a million passengers are unable to fly due to a shortage of airline seats.
From October to December Dhaka, Chitttagong and Sylhet International Airports will come under the open sky policy.
Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim told journalists that under this policy all designated international airlines would
be able to operate flights to these three airports.
The open sky policy would help solve the present problems of different sections of air passengers including outgoing labourers, students, businessmen and other professionals.
Air Sylhet is working hard to ensure it is one of the first airlines to directly fly to Sylhet.

On Track

Air Sylhet looks set to begin operations shortly . The complex negotiations to enable this to happen have finally
been completed.
Although a little later than planned, the result is a significantly improved operation, well worth the extra months of
effort. The deal involves a UK AOC holder, a Boeing 767 lease agreement and the additional protection of an ATOL bond.
Crucial to the deal was the need to control costs, so that Air Sylhet can offer low cost services to its customers.
The deal includes a very large UK travel agent as partner, providing marketing and ticketing services. Air Sylhet expects
to be able to confirm its planned flight schedules very soon. This will be timed with the implementation of a web based ticketing engine that will permit passengers to book flights directly on the world wide web.
Travel agents will also be able to book flights through the website or through conventional booking systems, providing global access to Air Sylhet's flights.
The next few weeks will see a series of exciting announcements by Air Sylhet.
Perhaps the most exciting development for shareholders and passengers alike, is the possibility of direct flights to
Sylhet in Bangladesh (see article above ). Air Sylhet hopes to be able to make some very important announcements about this very soon.
Air Sylhet has only been on the starting blocks for a short time, but is already taxiing towards the startup position,
ready for take-off!

New Premises - London Office

Currently, Air Sylhet's HQ is in Birmingham. However, new offices will be required to service Air Sylhet's marketing and ticketing operations.
Air Sylhet will establish new offices at Harrow on the Hill in London adjacent to the A40/M40.
The new offices will bring it closer to Travelpack, Air Sylhet's travel agent partner, in the crucial startup phase of
Air Sylhet's operations.
It is expected that this will help transfer invaluable practical and market expertise, as well as facilitate a smooth
transition to a successful sales operation.
